Erziehung, Note: keine, Universität Koblenz-Landau (Pädagogik der Frühen Kindheit), Veranstaltung: Pädagogische Qualität, 15 Quellen im Literaturverzeichnis, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Der Qualitätsbegriff unterliegt einem historischen Wandel und ist abhängig von kulturellen Traditionen. So wurde in den 50er Jahren eine gute Qualität nicht-elterlicher Betreuungs- und Erziehungsformen durch Begriffe wie Wärme und Pflege definiert. In den 60er und 70er Jahren lag der Schwerpunkt auf der Förderung der kognitiven Entwicklung der betreuten Kinder. "In den 80er und 90er Jahren hingegen wird eine breitere Definition einer guten Qualität verfolgt, die sich auf das `ganze´ Kind richtet und neben kognitiver Stimulierung auch Gesundheits- und Sicherheitsaspekte sowie soziale und emotionale Unterstützung des Kindes umfaßt." (ROSSBACH 1993, S. 9) Mit Veränderungen in der Familie (z.B. Zunahme von AlleinerzieherInnen und mütterlicher Berufstätigkeit) ging auch ein positiver Einstellungswandel zum Kindergarten einher. In der pädagogischen und psychologischen Forschung ist die Erarbeitung von Qualitätskriterien für die Kleinkindbetreuung in den letzten Jahren zu einem vorherrschenden Thema geworden. Angesichts dieser gesellschaftlichen Veränderungen der letzten Jahre erhalten qualitativ hochwertige Angebote für Schul- und Vorschulkinder eine immer größere Bedeutung. Der Bedarf ist in den letzten Jahren kontinuierlich gestiegen und entspricht in den westlichen Bundesländern nicht der Nachfrage. Neue Angebotsformen für Schulkinder werden geschaffen und ergänzen das klassische Angebot des Hortes. In den östlichen Bundesländern konnte in Horten ein Platzangebot erhalten werden, das deutlich höher liegt, als in den westlichen.
