Studienarbeiten Latein (Gymnasium): Das Werk beinhaltet Analysen, Übersetzungen und Interpretationen zu 4 verschiedenen Metamorphosen von Ovid. Die behandelten Metamorphosen sind: Pygmalion (Buch 10: V. 243-297), Daedalus und Ikarus (Buch 8: V. 183-235), Cadmus und Harmonia (Buch 4: V. 563-603) und Dryope (Buch 9: V. 324-393).
Leseproben: Pygmalion ist von dem frevelhaften Verhalten der Propoetiden so empört, dass er allen Frauen entsagt und es vorzieht sein Leben alleine zu verbringen. So erschafft er eines Tages aus einem Elfenbeinblock eine Frau die seinen Wunschvorstellungen eines Idealbildes einer Frau vollkommen entspricht. Er küsst und liebkost sie und schenkt ihr eine Vielzahl an Accessoires. Am Ehrentag der Göttin Venus bittet er dann die Liebesgöttin darum ihm eine Frau wie jene die er geschaffen hatte, zu geben. Als er in sein Heim zurückkehrte beginnt er sogleich seine Jungfrau aus Elfenbein zu küssen. Sofort spürt er eine Veränderung die sein Werk vollzogen hat. Aus Pygmalions Elfenbeinstatue ist eine Frau aus Fleisch und Blut geworden. Er nimmt seine Statue zu seiner Gemahlin und zeugt mit ihr das Mädchen Paphos nach dem eine griechische Insel benannt wurde.

Trotz aller Spekulationen über den genauen Hintergrund des Todes von Ikarus bleibt eines jedoch klar: Der Sohn starb, da er nicht in der Lage zu sein schien, die perfekte Mitte zwischen der gefährlichen Nähe zur Sonne und der bedrohlichen Meeresflut zu finden. Es gelang ihm also nicht, das Pendel zwischen zwei negativen Extremen ins Gleichgewicht zu bringen. Es verwundert also nicht, dass dieser Sturz des Ikarus auch in anderen Lebensbereichen und Zeitaltern abstrakt widergespiegelt werden kann.

Genau wie bei der Alliteration benutzt Ovid das Ho-moioteleuton hier um die Textstelle in der Aussprache flüssiger zu gestalten. Zu beachten ist, dass Ovid der betroffenen Textstelle keine besondere Bedeutung beimisst, sondern das Stilmittel nur aus ästhetischen Gründen verwendet.

Als nun Dryope das Blut aus dem abgebrochenen Zweige hervorquellen sah, wollte sie flüchten, jedoch schlugen ihre Beine Wurzeln ("haeserunt ratice pedes") und unter diesem Umstand war es ihr unmöglich Schritte zu gehen. So nahm die Verwandlung in einen Baum ab diesem Zeitpunkt immer mehr ihren Lauf.
