She pulled out her phone, taking a deep breath as her call was answered.
"Samira?" she said, bursting into tears.
And there she sat, on a park bench, sobbing to her coach.
"I've ruined everything," she cried, tears clouding her vision.
"It's alright, it's alright. Tell me what happened," said Samira, calmly. Her voice was gentle, almost as if Catherine was a child she was trying to soothe.
"I've been sick, I just took a test, I'm pregnant," cried Catherine.
There was a beat of silence on the other end of the line and Catherine knew that Samira too was thinking of all the consequences, the lost work.
"Don't cry, it's alright. We can work this out. Reid must be thrilled," said Samira finally.
"I haven't told him yet," said Catherine quietly.
"I'm letting down so many people, including Reid," said Catherine. "How can I tell him?" she asked, her voice breaking.....
