About the Author: Don Alexander was born in 1939 in Truman Arkansas inside a sharecropper cabin where chickens could be seen through the floor and a pan of foot washing water would freeze under the bed during a frosty winter night. There was no electricity and no refrigeration. Oil lamps and candles were used for lighting; and wood burning stoves were used for heating and cooking. The family carried water from the nearby creek and stored perishable food supplies in an underground cellar. Don's father finished the fifth grade and his mother made it through the eighth grade. Don had four brothers and two sisters and the family's main entrée was grease bread and gravy. Don's mom and dad worked in the fields six days each week from sun-up until dusk. Bedtime was eight o'clock pm and rise-up time was 5:00 am. Don's parents could not help him financially, so he worked his way through grade school, and high school. Foolishly, he married his high school sweetheart and began his adult working career as a human mule doing hard labor. Rather quickly, he became keenly aware that he needed more education so he spent the next thirty years getting a triple Bachelor of Science Degree in business, psychology and political science plus a doctorate in law. While being exposed to education, he worked as a salesman, maintenance mechanic, dock hand, dock foreman, machining foreman, production foreman, police officer, industrial engineer, and general contractor. He spent twelve years on the road as a business consultant with various consulting firms and then ran his own consulting operation for eight years. Before retiring to provide custodial care for his father who finally died at age 95, Don and his work crews rehabbed a couple hundred commercial and residential properties. He studied Latin, Greek and Russian but has long ago ceased speaking anything but English. He studied physics, chemistry, Earth sciences, biology, zoology, anthropology, archeology, and advanced mathematics including statistics and mathematical probability at Hannibal-Lagrange College, Washington University and the University of Missouri - Columbia. He has read and studied the same subjects from his teen-age years to age 72.
