About the Book

The fight was the bloodiest I have seen or been involved in. the weapons of choice were broken beer bottles. A face hit with a broken bottle bleeds a lot. I was covered in blood. One combatant, sliced across the stomach, was holding, I couldn't tell if it was his guts or the shards of the sweater he was wearing. Many nice guys go to bars for a relaxing drink or two. For some of them a drink will turn them into someone who has to show the world just how tough they are. When this happens any nice guy sitting near by has to watch what he says or the way he looks at the drinker, or he might be in for a fight. This is not limited to drinkers at the bar. There are some so called tough guys who go to bars just to find a fight and any guy with to much to drink is an easy target. However the fight starts, its up to the bouncer to clean things up. A bouncer's normal duties are to check ids and making sure the bar customers are having a good time. When things go bad the bouncer soon finds himself in a tangle that will end when the toughest guy in the bar prevails.
The toughest guy in the bar has to be the bouncer or things could get out of hand and if that happens people could be hurt and the bar could be closed forcing people out of work. It's a tough job and the tough part falls on the bouncer to handle.

Author's Biography
When I was small my dad would roughhouse with my brother and me for he knew that while growing up we would, from time to time, encounter a bully. A bully is nothing more then a coward who will pray on those he finds weaker then himself. That is why it's always best to stand up to a bully.
My dad, while in the Marines, fought in the ring, so taught my brother and I to box." the manly art of self defence." We put the gloves on and learned how to throw a punch and how to take one. We were told not to fight unless we had to and to do so only as a last resort. When we did have to fight we were to fight fair. Dad being practical knew all fights were not fair, so if someone wanted to fight dirty, we were also trained to do so.
In college I was heavy weight champion in judo two years in a row and became a student instructor. My brother was one of my students. He got involved in Jujitsu and in turn got me involved. It's in the tao arts of Jujitsu that I eventually earned my black belt. This took me seven years to do even with all my previous training. I never got into the arts for a belt of any kind. I got into it to learn. My belt may be in Jujitsu but i never limited myself to that art alone. I have friends in many of the arts and have learned much from them. I say "if it works, use it."
What many people do not understand is 90% of marshal arts is metal. What you see in demos, on TV or in the movies is a staged portion of the bottom 10%. The goal is to win the fight without fighting. I am proud to say that as a bouncer I managed to do just that on more then one occasion.
