The story of an abandoned child's tragic fate as a migrant worker in Saudi Arabia. Inspired by a true story, In memory of Rizana Nafeek.INTRODUCTION The tales of most orphans are rarely told. Life often deals them short straws. But this tale has more twists to it than most. It is of a young girl whose starts with the difficult life of being an orphan in a small town in Sri Lanka but finds herself given the opportunity and promise of life with two willing parents who are unable to bear a child of their own.
Like many orphans taken out of an orphanage, Ramya learns that life in an adoptive home is not all it was imagined to be. She is ultimately sent to work in a country where customs and laws do not favor outsiders, and life just gets harder. It begins with simple abuse and gets worse.
Ramya finds herself in a place no young woman should be trapped in a land where injustice reigns.
MY INSPIRATION FOR WRITING THE BOOKThis book was inspired by the true, tragic story of a Sri Lankan female who went to a Middle Eastern country to work, like so many before her. Her painful ordeal and dealings which the law in that country resulted in her unfair and unmerited death at the hands of people who see workers from other countries as nothing but a plague in their own.
WHY I WROTE THIS BOOKThis book is written with the thoughts of every struggling orphan who has ever been shipped overseas, especially into Saudi Arabia, with the promise of fortunes and life anew, only to be neglected, wrongly treated, and maligned and attacked bylaws that only protect the native-born.
Countless lives are lost on the allegations of promiscuity through sharia law, while others are wrongly convicted because they either don't fit into the social standards or are simply outsiders.
This book is written for these people who cannot speak. It is not fictitious propaganda against those of the Middle East, but a tale full of truth about the cruelty the world holds for those regarded as outsiders in the Middle East in countries like Saudi.
I want this book to fight for the weak and suffering and help them attain justice.
