Ziel der Arbeit ist es, die Rollen der beteiligten Akteure am Wandelprozess nachzuzeichnen, um daraus Bedingungsfaktoren für erfolgreichen Organisationswandel in der schulischen Reformpraxis abzuleiten. Zur Beantwortung der Fragestellung erarbeitet der Autor zunächst ein theoretisches Gerüst, das auf zentralen Ansätzen der Organisationstheorie und insbesondere auf dem Ansatz des Change-Managements basiert. Im zweiten Teil der Arbeit führt der Autor eine eigenständige empirische Studie durch. In der qualitativen Untersuchung eines Organisationsentwicklungsprozesses im Rahmen der jüngsten Schulreform in Hamburg verwendet der Autor vornehmlich Daten aus der teilnehmenden Beobachtung, die im Hinblick auf die Implementierung von Veränderungen und den Erfolg des Veränderungsprozesses ausgewertet und interpretiert werden. In der Schlussbetrachtung resümiert der Autor die wesentlichen Ergebnisse seiner Fallanalyse und zeigt zukünftigen Forschungsbedarf auf.
