Der Faktor Mensch, als Kunde ebenso wie als Mitarbeiter, wird dabei immer bedeutender, da immer homogenere Angebote, vergleichbare Qualität sowie austauschbare Alleinstellungsmerkmale die Wettbewerbsbedingungen der Unternehmen zunehmend prägen. Infolgedessen werden klassische Kaufentscheidungskriterien wie z.B. Qualität, Preis, Design immer ähnlicher, sodass es für das Erreichen der Unternehmensziele und für die Gestaltung einer jeden unternehmerischen Zukunft von entscheidender Bedeutung ist, Mitarbeiter an das jeweilige Unternehmen zu binden. Aus diesem Zusammenhang ergibt sich die zentrale Fragestellung der vorliegenden Arbeit: Kann die Optimierung von Anreizsystemen ein maßgeblicher Faktor für den Unternehmenserfolg darstellen? Ein wesentliches Ziel dieser Arbeit ist es, Empfehlungen für das AKH Autokaufhaus GmbH auf Grundlage wissenschaftlicher Theorien zu geben. Diese Empfehlungen können lediglich Denkanstöße liefern und haben keinen Anspruch auf Vollständigkeit- sie dienen lediglich einer theoretischen und konzeptionellen Sicht auf Motivation und Mitarbeiterzufriedenheit hinsichtlich der gezielten Nutzung von Anreizsystemen. Nachdem im Kapitel 2 deren konzeptionelle Grundlagen erklärt und verdeutlich werden, soll im Kapitel 3 auf die Motivation und deren verschiedene Formen eingegangen werden. Da eine vollständige Betrachtung aller Theorien den Rahmen dieser wissenschaftlichen Arbeit überschreiten würde, liegt der Schwerpunkt im darauffolgenden Kapitel auf den Theorien von Maslow, Herzberg und Vroom. Anhand dieser Theorien werden sowohl theoretische als auch praktische Überlegungen zur Einführung des Cafeteriasystems sowie konzeptionelle Gestaltungsmöglichkeiten erörtert.
