About the Book

It was the end of the twenty first century. The Earth's Deep space exploration programme was still in its infancy. Methris, an Earth like planet had been discovered in a system close by. A small colony was established to mine Corzite, a newly discovered radioactive ore. It's potential as a power source, far exceeded those of the fusion systems currently operating. By refining and processing the ore, larger and faster vessels were produced, unlocking prolific deep space exploration and, off-world mining facilities. It also heralded the downfall of the human race. On a distant planet being mined for its ore and minerals, humans came to the attention of the Boran Empire. A parasitic warring people, that attacked worlds, enslaved their population and plundered their resources. The Borans attacked without warning. There was no miraculous escape, only death, destruction and enslavement. Nothing it seemed could stop them. "Project Haven," was the Earth's only hope. A secret network of underground installations, had been established back in the fifties. They were originally designed to protect the wealth of human knowledge and some of the population from extinction level events. Now, "Project Haven" would become pivotal in the salvation of the human race. Ten years in planning and preparation. "Operation Revenge" was created. Join General Daniel Forbes, John and Mary Peters, Jock Mahony, Joe Braxton along with Commander "Shim" Dalton, and his band of Marines, as they do battle with the Borans. The fight for survival had begun.
About the Author: Clive was born in England in 1958, and now lives in the Canary Islands. Having left school at sixteen he began his working career, taking positions in various administrative roles. At twenty seven he had been married, divorced and become a single parent of three great boys. An avid reader and viewer of science fiction, this genre peaked his interest. Along with a vivid imagination the concept of the "pod ships" in his first book was created. It took over twenty five years before the idea resurfaced, and along with prodding from friends he sat down at his computer in January 2012 and started to write his thoughts down. Two years later his first book "Operation Revenge" was published. "I believe we all have a story inside us. I feel very honoured and proud to have produced mine." "Creating, writing and publishing a book, can be likened to walking down a dimly lit street, out of a town. You start in a brightly lit, comfortable place that you know. You feel secure with your surroundings. The further you walk the darker it becomes, the lights become sporadic, the signs become more confusing. Occasionally, you can become lost and have to return to the start. But sometimes you make it all the way, to the comfort of home. My advice, don't give up keep trying." What does the future hold? "Well I guess there is nothing for it but to start on a second book. Nothing ventured, nothing gained!" "I hope you enjoy the book!" January 2014. I have begun the 2nd book! Got a little side tracked with the Adventures of Mattepotamus. A series of short stories for children. September 2014 2nd book is finished! I now have someone to proof read it.
