About the Book

It's 2050, earth and other planets are now mined robotically for spacecraft fuel. Once the human race left earth, new nation alliances formed in space. Unfortunately, the human race has been forced into calculated procreation in order to maintain food and oxygen supplies. The new peace treaty between nations means each leader must enforce strict rationing and socializing protocols but not even the leaders are not hardwired to put their love in a box or control their passions. When a spaceship captain falls for a rebellious computer genius who has joined a rogue group, he risks his leadership position and politics in space makes it dangerous for him to even communicate with his high school sweetheart who is now on the most wanted list. He tries to deny his feelings but finds himself reading the manifesto of the group and seeing how their principles of giving each person equal opportunity to have a child and distribute equal food and water to everyone regardless of currency and status could be the ultimate way to restore peace among the nations. Markus knows this love could mean losing everything but starts to entertain the idea that is maybe the only thing worth fighting for in his life and for the future of humanity. Markus decides to hack the mainframe and transfer all currency to the group who has created an untraceable system to equally distribute the funds to all citizens of the human race. Just before he does, a jealous ex tries to foil his plan and guilt him about taking his parents' hard-earned wealth which allowed him to become Captain in the first place. She reminds Markus that he doesn't even know if Yasira is still alive because they communicate through virtual reality and could be computer-generated. Not knowing if his girlfriend is real or AI, he will have to decide whether to trust his gut or the statistics which indicate the rogue group was destroyed by an asteroid belt. This time risking everything for love could mean starting a war between AI and humans or saving humanity.
