About the Book

Life seldom moves smoothly, in a straight-line manner; more often than not, it would throw such challenges at you that could totally and completely change the course of your life. Some trials of life, could brutally overwhelm some individuals to such an extent that they give up fighting altogether and they humiliatingly accept defeat. This demoralizes them to such an extent that they are convinced that they could never recover and with broken hearts, shattered bodies and bruised souls, they are forced to give up on life for good. On the other hand, there most certainly are some invincible souls, who display a remarkable sense of vision, formidable determination and an unwavering will-power to change their destiny and remarkably they manage to earn a second chance at life. In this story, Liam fell in love with Sophia, who was studying at the same school and in the same class as Liam. Liam's father, Frank Scott, was a poor school teacher but Sophia's father, David Cameron, was a big property magnate, who could never accept his daughter getting married to a pauper's son like Liam. He was one of the biggest donors to Liam's school and he used his sly influence to get Liam expelled from the school with some flimsy accusations of misconduct. Poor Liam was expelled from the school, sadly before he could finish his education. Unfortunately, his misfortunes did not just end there; his father was killed by the egotistical father of his girlfriend and unfortunately Liam landed at the crossroads, where he was unable to envisage which way to turn. People who are intoxicated with power - whether it is the physical power or the power of their position or one of the nastiest categories of power - the power of wealth, arrogantly treat other human beings as parasites and vermin and cruelly trample under their brutal feet, the lives and aspirations of the poor and the helpless individuals. As Abraham Lincoln wrote, "Nearly all men can stand adversity, but if you want to test a man's character, give him power."https: //www.goodreads.com/quotes/275126- Accessed on 07/09/2019But Liam was determined not to give up on life and with his clear vision, firm determination and the unrelenting will-power, he managed to earn a second chance at life. He even forced his father-in-law, who had been intoxicated with the power of wealth, to forget about the past and have a fresh start, to secure a second chance at life. Despite being punished by life for his ignorance and arrogance, Sophia's dad was too conceited and stubborn and foolishly refused to mend his ways. His only son left home in disgust at his ignorance, arrogance and his avaricious lust for money and his blatant hatred for the poor, the helpless and the most vulnerable people in society. His daughter, Sophia, eloped with Liam, the night before her wedding, as she refused to marry her dad's choice, Daniel, who was a spoiled rich-brute, barefaced traitor and nauseatingly immoral. When life battered him mercilessly, due to his life-long arrogance and obduracy, Sophia's dad, David Cameron, apologized for the errors of his ways and begged Liam and Sophia to come and live with him, as he was scared that his past could come to haunt him in his old age. He wanted to overcome the lifelong obsessions with the evils, like sheer greed, ignorance, arrogance and stubbornness, and was desperate to earn a second chance at life. End of the day, he had to accept that he could not impose his pathetic ways on everyone all his life. He realized that he had to be humble and respect the feelings, hopes and aspirations of others, before life could give him a second chance, to have a fresh start at life. When you have grossly wronged people, they stay skeptical about you for the rest of their lives, unless they receive unreserved apologies for every wrong you inflicted on them
