About the Book

Enter the world of Jesus and become witness to the greatest birth that ever occurred. Santa Claus is a nice story and character of the Christmas Season but Jesus IS the authentic personality of Christmas. Once upon a Manger takes you into the hearts, minds and very soul of those who were present and instrumental in His coming to earth. Creatively written in story/poetic form this book will have open you to the preparation, problems, praise and perils that came with the coming of the Lord. You will be provided insights not given in the typical telling of the Christmas story nor in the typical Christmas book. You will love it and so will those you share it with.
About the Author: Vernon is a native of Detroit Michigan. He was educated in the Detroit Public School system and is a proud graduate of the Cass Technical High School there. He is a licensed and ordained minister having been raised under the leadership of Rev. Roy A. Allen Sr. at the Chapel Hill Baptist Church. He is also a proud graduate of American Baptist College in Nashville, Tennessee. Vernon has served as a pastor for over 30 years and a community leader. He is a teacher and trainer who loves to see people "get it" and then do something with the "it" they get. He is engaging and innovative with no fear of transcending traditional boundaries to reach a people and purpose untouched. His preaching and teaching ministry have taken him throughout the country and exposed him to people of diverse ethnicities, cultures, denominations and purposes. Whether behind the pulpit or podium he is at home in the presentation of the gospel. Vernon is a man of passion and creativity. He is a people person who believes in the destiny and development of people. He is desirous of sharing the gospel in many forms that enable Jesus to be known and received by many as He goes about life and ministry. This is the inspiration behind his creative writing ministry that includes poetry, songs, plays and stories. It is his vehicle for reaching the world that needs to know Jesus with a presentation this is personal and unique. It is gospel presentation with a twist (and maybe even a turn). Vernon is a family man and resides in California with his wife Crystal.
