About the Book

Oh God! My Preacher Is Pregnant is a passionate memoir for anyone and everyone who ever dreams what seem to be impossible dreams, or sees what seem to be impossible visions. The narrative relates the faith journey that permitted the author and her husband to birth two sons and two daughters, even though doctors said children were impossible for her to conceive. The threat of death was her constant companion after conception and during delivery. One threat escalated to an out-of-body, near death experience. Four surprise pregnancies yielded four live births. The births were froth with health related issues that God permitted the Mother and Father to overcome, together. One of the births is a midlife blessing that posed an age gap of 15, 14, and 10 years between the siblings. Even the gap highlights God's Miracles and the couple's powerfully strong faith, We see the destiny of divine order move front and center in this cosmic drama. In the midst of the Miracles, the Mother is propelled forward to confess God's lifelong call on her life to preach the Gospel. The proclamation of that Gospel was costly. Reverend Nawanna Lewis Miller is the author who is married to her high school sweetheart, George C. Miller, Jr. They overcome the opposition to preachers who are female in the Baptist Church. She was the first Clergy who is female on staff in the Historical Metropolitan Baptist Church in Washington, D.C. Her Ordination to the Gospel Ministry caused some controversy, on the one hand. On the other hand, the experience of celebration for, by, and about women, and the men who support them as equals is inspiring. God moved her past the naysayers to assume the mantle to preach the Gospel in 1992. She clearly was called from birth. We experience the first person account of what took place for this preacher, "who happens to be a lady". Her near death, out-of-body, experience during childbirth is powerful testimony about God's direct involvement with the events of God's daughters and sons. Have you ever heard about some babies who are "born with a veil"? The author was one of those babies. The scientific name is Caul Birth or En Caul Birth. While writing the book, God the Holy Spirit led Reverend Miller to explore that peculiarity of her own birth, and how that peculiarity impacted her life. What she discovered is both educational, inspirational and insightful. The reader is enabled to understand and explore Theological discourse about the supernatural power and order of the Creator God. As important as the themes of faith, pregnancy and preaching are in this book, the theme of a relationship between a husband and wife, and their sons and daughters is equally important. Those relationships benefit a vast array of ministry and extended family relationships.
About the Author: Nawanna Lewis Miller is married to George C. Miller, Jr. They are the parents of six children; and grandparents of six grandsons. The Metropolitan Baptist Church, in Washington, D.C., under the Pastorate of Reverend Dr. H. Beecher Hicks, Jr., licensed and ordained her. She was the second woman, at the historical Metropolitan, to receive the right to preach the Gospel. She is one of the first ten African American graduates of the University Of Georgia (UGA) in Athens, Georgia. While at UGA, Reverend Miller established Pamoja, which became the African American Choral Ensemble. Later, she earned the Master of Arts Degree in Organizational Communications from the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences; and the Master of Divinity Degree from the Howard University School of Divinity. Reverend Miller and her family planted The Messiah's Temple Christian Ministries in 1995. In addition, she established The Institute for Christian, Inc., which is a national discipleship, teaching, and development ministry; and Hannah's Hope Family Life Center. She is the published author of Angels in My Room;Cruising the Cosmos; and Heal the Hurt! Live the Victory.
