Eine der grossten Herausforderungen des 21. Jahrhunderts ist die Umstellung von fossilen Brennstoffen auf erneuerbare Energien. Wegen den naturlich auftretenden Schwankungen sind geeignete Speichersysteme zum Ausgleich entscheidend. Lithium-Ionen Batterien spielen hierbei eine wichtige Rolle, da sie hohe Energiedichten aufweisen. Jedoch sind noch nicht alle Ablaufe in diesen Batterien vollstandig verstanden, wie beispielsweise der irreversible Kapazitatsverlust in den ersten Zyklen sowie die Zyklenstabilitat. Bekannt ist, dass die Ausbildung einer sog. SEI (Solid Electrolyte Interface) auf der Graphitelektrode die Verwendung von Graphit als Anodenmaterial erst ermoglicht, jedoch auch fur den irreversiblen Kapazitatsverlust verantwortlich ist. Im Rahmen dieser Arbeit wurden sowohl auf Modelloberflachen (HOPG und Silizium) sowie realen Graphitelektroden Ankergruppen uber Diazoniumsalzchemie angebracht. Hierzu wurden unterschiedlich funktionalisierte Diazoniumsalze synthetisiert, welche als Ankergruppen zum weiteren Schichtaufbau mittels Thiol-En/-In Click-Chemie auf den Oberflachen dienten. Die so erhaltenen modifizierten Oberflachen wurden mit Hilfe von Rontgenphotoelektronenspektroskopie (XPS) und Flugzeitmassenspektrometrie (ToF-SIMS) analysiert sowie anschliessend hinsichtlich ihrer Eignung als kunstlich erzeugte SEI elektrochemisch in einer Lithium-Ionen Batterie untersucht.
