Na prática, se materializam na forma de comunidades virtuais, websites, aplicativos, reunindo usuários que coadunam dos mesmos valores e interesses. Por outro lado, na seara corporativa, servem para engajar pessoas, interligar empresas, flexibilizar e dimensionar um processo comunicativo multidirecional em favor da produtividade. Todavia, decorrem riscos significativos associados ao uso inadequado de tais recursos, entre os quais se evidenciam, entre outros, a crescente a preocupação por parte das instituições sobre o controle do tráfego de informações, violação e sequestro dos dados, a vulnerabilidade dos sistemas computacionais. Por consequência, as práticas comerciais e/ou interações sociais via rede exigem das organizações altos custos financeiros com segurança da informação para evitar atos de interferência ilícita. Sob essa perspectiva, o presente trabalho de pesquisa qualitativa e empírico descritiva tem por objetivo discutir o processo de comunicação nas organizações através das redes sociais, elencando contribuições, limitações e desafios. Para tanto, recorreu a Revisão da Literatura e ao Estudo de Caso enquanto métodos de investigação para a construção dessa problemática. Como resultado, se destaca um panorama esclarecedor sobre o tema, vindo a somar para o processo de tomada de decisões estratégicas na empresa envolvendo o processo de comunicativo presencial e online.
