Ziel ist es, eine kurze Einleitung zu geben in die Thematik der ästhetischen Bildung und Erziehung und die Notwendigkeit der ästhetischen Erfahrung im modernen Zeitalter zu diskutieren. Um dieser Fragestellung nachzugehen, wird zunächst ein historischer Abriss über ästhetische Bildung gegeben, um darzustellen, inwieweit ästhetische Bildung in den vergangenen Jahrhunderten und Jahrzehnten eine Rolle spielte. Zudem werden in den weiteren Abschnitten einige Begrifflichkeiten erklärt, das heißt es wird erläutert, was Ästhetik und Aisthesis, ästhetische Bildung und ästhetische Erfahrungen bedeuten. Eine genaue Darstellung und Erläuterung dieser Begriffe ist erforderlich, um erläutern und untersuchen zu können, ob und warum ästhetische Bildung, Empfindungs- und Wahrnehmungsvermögen in der heutigen Zeit von Bedeutung sind. Die grundlegende These dieser Arbeit soll sein, dass das Ästhetische einen steten Bezug auf die Erkenntnis hat. Die damit verbundene Frage, die in dieser Arbeit diskutiert werden soll, lautet: Wo lässt sich das Aisthetische für das naturwissenschaftliche Lernen erfahrbar machen, ist Erkenntnisgewinn durch ästhetische Erfahrung möglich und welche Nutzungsmöglichkeiten ergeben sich daraus für den Sachunterricht? Des Weiteren soll anhand von Beispielen aufgezeigt werden, welche naturwissenschaftlichen Themen im Sachunterricht den ästhetischen Zugang ermöglichen. Das öffentliche Interesse an ästhetischer und kultureller Bildung hat auch in Deutschland an großer Bedeutung gewonnen, trotzdem besteht ein Forschungsdefizit in diesem Feld.
