After the Wall fell and the German Democratic Republic dissolved, Erich Honecker found refuge in Santiago de Chile, where he haggled with death and the judgement of history. Patricio Dupré, Chilean and former refugee in East Germany, becomes tangled in a harrowing plot when he lands a job as translator for the very leader of the regime that crumbled the dreams of his youth, studying Philosophy at the Karl-Marx-Universität, in Leipzig.
