Edición exclusiva y anotada. El libro comienza con el matrimonio de Crusoe en Inglaterra. Allí, compró una granja y tuvo tres hijos: dos niños y una niña. Robinson padece depresión por la necesidad de ver "su isla", no hablaba de otra cosa, y no soporta que no creyeran su historia, excepto su esposa, quien decide acompañarle, pero fallece antes. Crusoe zarpa en barco con Viernes y en enero de 1694 llegan a la isla vía Irlanda. Ven que los hombres a los que dejaron en la isla una década atrás habían tenido dificultades, pero se unieron tras un intento de invasión por parte de los caníbales. Crusoe intenta consolidar el liderazgo en la isla y mantener la organización, dejando materiales útiles, un sistema legal basado en el honor y obligando a las parejas que cohabitaban a casarse. A su camino de vuelta, Viernes es asesinado cuando intentaba negociar con unos caníbales. Entierra a Viernes, y zarpa hacia Brasil donde pasa un largo período, y luego se dirige al Cabo de Buena Esperanza. Llegan a Madagascar, y sus nueve hombres son perseguidos por trescientos nativos, porque uno de sus marineros se había llevado a una joven nativa entre los árboles. Los nativos colgaron a esta persona, así que la tripulación masacró a 32 personas y quemó las casas del pueblo. Crusoe se opuso a todo esto, por lo que fue abandonado, y se instaló en la Bahía de Bengala. Al final compra un barco que resultó ser robado. Así, se dirigieron a Camboya hasta que llegan a Formosa (Taiwán). Luego China. Visitaron Nanking y navegaron hacia el sur. Ahí un viejo piloto portugués les sugirió que fueran por un canal que pasaba por el centro del imperio Chino, cruzaba todos los ríos y algunas colinas con la ayuda de esclusas y compuertas, y subía hasta Pekín, casi 270 leguas. Luego viajaron hasta la frontera entre China y Rusia (13 de abril de 1703). Llegaron a Europa alrededor de ríos y afluentes. Finalmente Crusoe llegó a la ciudad portuaria de White Sea Arch-Angel (Archangelsk) el 18 de agosto, y navegó hasta Hamburgo (18 de septiembre) y La Haya. Llegó a Londres el 10 de enero de 1705, habiendo estado fuera de Inglaterra diez años y nueve meses
