About the Book

English summary: Friedrich von Hardenberg, aka Novalis, was one of the preeminent representatives of eighteenth-century German Romanticism. His Hymns to the Night are presented here in a first time French translation. This masterpiece of German poetry, inspired by the story of Romeo and Juliette, sings the praises of the power of the night. Hardenbergs work inspired generations of German poets as well as later Protestant composers.
