Diplomarbeit aus dem Jahr 2013 im Fachbereich BWL - Offline-Marketing und Online-Marketing, Note: 1,7, Fachhochschule Worms, Veranstaltung: Marketing, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Als Anbieter und Einsteiger in den Onlinehandel stellt sich zu Beginn die Frage, ob man auf ein Massenprodukt mit einer sicheren Abnahme aufgrund des stabilen Angebots- und Nachfrageverhältnisses mit großen Umsatz-, aber geringeren Gewinnmargen zielt, oder ob man sich für die Bedienung eines Nischenmarkts mit geringeren Umsatz-, aber hohen Gewinnmargen entscheidet. Aus der Wettbewerbssicht steht man als Nischenanbieter mit seinem Angebot relativ allein da. Daher ergibt sich aus der Wettbewerbsperspektive für den Nischenanbieter eine "Quasi-Monopolstellung". Diese Position begründet sich aus Wettbewerbssicht schlichtweg in seiner Existenz, in der ein Nischenanbieter weniger gefährdet ist als die anderen Marktteilnehmer. Die Bedienung der speziellen Nachfrage stellt damit einen existenziellen Aspekt bei der Strategiefindung für einen Onlinehändler dar. Nischen im stationären Handel unterliegen jedoch den Bestimmungen der Knappheit und dem Diktat des Standorts. Letzteres ist darauf angewiesen, seine knappe Ladenfläche an lokale Abnehmer anzupassen. Für jede Regalfläche entsteht dem Einzelhändler Kosten, die gedeckt werden müssen. Die Füller dieser Regalflächen sind daher i.d.R. keine Nischenprodukte, sondern Produkte die einen sicheren Umsatz schaffen und daher eher den Geschmack der Masse abdecken. Demzufolge werden im standortgebundenen Handel Nischenprodukte als Ladenhüter betrachtet, weshalb sich Händler meist gegen Nischenprodukte entschieden. Aus Sichtweise des stationären Einzelhändlers ist diese Sortimentspolitik die einzig Logische, da Jene seinen Unterhalt sichert.
