The Night Land by William Hope Hodgson
The Nightland is a book by British fantasy writer William Hope Hodgson. Released in the year. Fri 1912
Nightland is set in the distant future after the sun's death. Few million humans survive in the Last Redoubt, a massive pyramid structure that serves both humanity's last refuge and the eventual grave. Outwardly, what is suspicious is the watcher of a colossal mountain-sized beast that moves inch by inch by century as the Redoubt's power fades and its defense weakens. These things are patient They came from outer space thousands of years ago when humanity opened the door for them by poorly guided science experiments.
The people of the Last Redoubt were able to gaze into these monsters only through a telescope, with only a few minutes of observation. There are no more astronomers in this dark land, only the observer Monstruacans, the watchers. Aside from the last doubt, what nods to the House of Silence, a quiet road, traveled by shadows, frightening figures, and greater terrors.
Then, after these millennia, Last Redoubt's humans discovered that they were not alone. Another refuge is called The Lesser Redoubt, but its defenses are shattered and hungry shadows are invading. A lonely hero ventures into the unknown darkness of the Nightland to save the woman he loves.
The night land was the land that used to be the home of mankind. But forests and green fields were long gone. The waters are dead Human beings are beasts from the hell that he allows from his own world because of his arrogance, which opens the door from another world. There will be no happy ending The world cannot be restored and the dead land cannot be brought back to life.
If there will be the glimmer of hope and happiness in these dull last days of humanity, it is on a quest of book heroes across ruined landscapes and demonic inhabitants to save the woman who He loves
His journey combines the horror of the elements with a grand journey that reminds me of the Odyssey. But it's basically an original work. Its powerful visuals will stay with you for many years after you finish reading one of my favorite online versions of Nightland, presented here for your reading pleasure.
