About the Book

Neville Lancelot Goddard wurde am 19. Februar 1905 in St. Michael, Barbados, als Sohn von Joseph Nathaniel Goddard, einem Kaufmann, und Wilhelmina Hinkinson geboren. Neville war das vierte Kind in einer Familie mit neun Jungen und einem Mädchen.Im Alter von siebzehn Jahren (im September 1922) zog er in die Vereinigten Staaten, um darstellende Künste zu studieren. Während er mit seiner Tanzgruppe in England auf Tournee war, fand er Gefallen an der Metaphysik, nachdem er in einem Gespräch mit einem Schotten, der ihm einige Bücher über die Kräfte des Geistes lieh, von diesem Thema erfahren hatte. Nach seiner Rückkehr in die Vereinigten Staaten verließ er die Unterhaltungsindustrie, um sich ganz dem Studium der Aspekte von Geist und Seele zu widmen.Sein Interesse verstärkte sich, nachdem er Abdullah traf, der eine Form des alten Christentums predigte.Neville besuchte auf Drängen eines Freundes eine von Abdullahs Predigten. Neville sagte einmal: "Ich erinnere mich noch an den ersten Abend, an dem ich Abdullah traf. Ich zögerte absichtlich, an seinen Treffen teilzunehmen, weil ein Mann, an dessen Urteil ich kein Vertrauen hatte, darauf bestand, dass ich teilnahm. Am Ende dieses Treffens kam Abdullah auf mich zu und sagte: "Neville, du bist sechs Monate zu spät. Überrascht fragte ich ihn, woher er meinen Namen kenne, und er antwortete: "Die Brüder haben mir vor sechs Monaten gesagt, dass Sie kommen würden." Er fügte hinzu: "Ich werde hier bleiben, bis ihr alles gelernt habt, was ich euch beibringen muss, und dann werde ich gehen. Er hatte sich schon lange gewünscht, weg zu sein, hatte aber beschlossen, auf mich zu warten. ".Nach diesem Treffen studierte Neville mit Abdullah, lernte Hebräisch, Kabbala und geheime Bedeutungen der Schrift.Nach Reisen durch die Vereinigten Staaten ließ sich Neville schließlich in Los Angeles nieder, wo er ab den 1950er Jahren eine Reihe von Vorträgen im Radio, Fernsehen sowie in Theatern, Auditorien und auf öffentlichen Plätzen hielt.Von da an bis zu seiner Abreise am 1. Oktober 1972 ging Neville, wie der Apostel Paulus, von morgens bis abends, um das Reich Gottes zu bezeugen und zu versuchen, jeden von der wahren Lehre Jesu sowie den Lehren Moses und der Propheten zu überzeugen - frei von den Dogmen der Kirchen.Neville Goddard war ein sehr einflussreicher Lehrer. Er widmete sich der Veranschaulichung der Lehren der psychologischen Wahrheit, die in den biblischen Lehren verborgen ist, und der Erweckung des Bewusstseins für die wahre Bedeutung, die die Alten der Welt bringen wollten, die aber die wahre Botschaft nur vor denen verbergen mussten, die zum Verständnis gelangten, in einer Zeit so vieler Kriege und Verfolgungen inmitten der Antike.Neville hat immer versucht, uns allen zu sagen, dass wir nicht die kleine Maske sind, die wir tragen, sondern ein viel größeres Wesen, das wir uns nicht einmal vorstellen können.
