After sixteen months on the inside, Max Dietrich and his lover, Sargent Jessie Dolorosa, have returned to The Promised Land-Texas, far from the Giordano Crime Family who engineered his imprisonment in Pennsylvania.
Max is a home builder and Jessie a detective lieutenant and Deputy Sherriff. They're married and have a son and have settled into the good life in the Hill Country. Until a gang of meth-cooking bikers ruins everything.
When Max and Jessie's reconnaissance of the biker's compound blows up, two cops are dead, Jessie's wounded and Max must explain how a civilian shot and killed three bikers. In a single morning, Max's three years of the straight life are as gone as the bikers he's killed.
Facing possible prosecution-and worse, retaliation by the remaining bikers-Max turns to his friend Sal Carini for help. But turning to a former hit man can lead to only one thing and before long, Max finds himself back in the grip of the mob-and the company of his former lover, Laurie, the daughter of mob boss Dominic Giordano.
A dark, thrilling tale of murder, revenge, lust, and the dark side of human nature, Never Feel Remorse is the continuing tale of Max Dietrich and his search for redemption. And revenge.
