El texto presenta el uso de la visualización, la habilidad para lograr la abstracción de los espacios, como una opción de actividad de clases diseñadas bajo la óptica de educación integral. La información presentada se organizó en nueve partes: una entrevista a una maestra exitosa, la bilateralidad cerebral, un modelo de análisis que parte de la enseñanza de lenguas, el trabajo con imágenes, la inteligencia visual y la creatividad, las imágenes en el salón de clases, una propuesta de actividades con imágenes y las conclusiones. En las primeras tres, se presenta una conversación acerca de las inteligencias múltiples y la visualización como herramienta de enseñanza con una maestra venezolana de larga trayectoria; luego, sigue la base teórica del trabajo con imágenes y la visualización y su vinculación con la educación; en tercer lugar, las imágenes como una forma de expresión y comprensión del mundo. En el cuarto punto de este texto se relaciona el enfoque de las inteligencias múltiples propuesto por Beauport con el proceso enseñanza -aprendizaje de una segunda lengua con la intención de mostrar cómo transferir la información a cualquier área del conocimiento. A continuación, se ofrecen estrategias para desarrollar la habilidad de visualizar como una actividad para incrementar la potencialidad del hemisferio derecho, donde reside la inteligencia espacial visual propuesta por Beauport. En la siguiente parte, se relacionan la creatividad y la inteligencia visual. Seguidamente, se presenta una serie de visualizaciones ya utilizadas en el campo de la enseñanza de la escritura de una lengua extranjera en general, para ofrecer así la posibilidad de expandir su uso a otras áreas. Finalmente, se recopilan varias actividades visuales como ejemplo de su posible utilización en el primer día de clases. En las conclusiones se incluyen, además, reflexiones sobre todo el proceso del trabajo docente.
About the Author: Beatriz Manrique is a Proffesor at Zulia University, Maracaibo, Venezuela. She holds a doctoral degree from Cordoba University, Spain plus other special diplomas on triune brain and teaching. She has been in the field of foreign language teaching for over thirty years. She has participated in many international events as guest speaker and has published articles in her area of expertise.
