Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2001 im Fachbereich Didaktik - Deutsch - Pädagogik, Sprachwissenschaft, Note: 1,7, Universität zu Köln (Seminar für Deutsche Sprache u. ihre Didaktik), Veranstaltung: Literaturunterricht und Geschlechterdifferenz, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Studien zum Leseverhalten von Jungen und Mädchen unterscheiden eine Reihe von Faktoren. Sie berichten zum einen von unterschiedlichen Lesepräferenzen, Leseerwartungen und Leseerfahrungen, zum anderen weisen sie starke Differenzierungen im Bereich der Lesekompetenz nach. Die vorgelegte Arbeit bezieht sich auf drei verschiedene Studien, deren Untersuchungen zum geschlechtsspezifischen Leseverhalten auf Fragebogenerhebungen bei Kindern und Jugendlichen im Alter von acht bis achtzehn Jahren beruhen. Um ein umfassenderes Verständnis des differenzierten Leseverhaltens zu erlangen, wurden auch explizit die Eltern der Mädchen und Jungen zu ihrem eigenen Leseverhalten befragt. Denn zum einen ist das Vorbild der Eltern ein wichtiger Aspekt und zum anderen muss die Förderung in der Familie betrachtet werden. Auch der Einfluss der Schule spielt eine entscheidende Rolle in Bezug auf das geschlechtsspezifische Leseverhalten. Verschiedene Aspekte der schulischen Leseförderung oder Lesehemmung werden diskutiert. Eine wichtige Frage ist nun: "Wie entsteht dieses geschlechtsspezifische Leseverhalten?" Um einen Einblick in die Entwicklung geschlechtsspezifischer Leseprozesse zu erlangen, beschäftigt sich der erste Teil der Arbeit mit dem geschichtlichen Hintergrund des weiblichen Leseverhaltens. Im nächsten Kapitel werden die verschiedenen Theorien dazu aufgezeigt. Im Mittelpunkt dieser Arbeit steht das differenzierte Leseverhalten von Jungen und Mädchen. Informationen über allgemeine Sozialisationsprozesse bilden somit eine Grundlage, um weitere Schlussfolgerungen zum Leseverhalten der Kinder und Jugendlichen zu ziehen. Aufgrund des vorgegebenen Umfanges ist eine Straffung von Informationen nicht immer vermeidbar.
