About the Book

The global Environment currently has a one direction trend and that direction is very bad news for the planet.

The debate about Climate Change continues to rage on. For us the people it is technical and difficult to fully understand the points put over by either side.

Pollution is obvious and clearly out of control along with the systematic destruction of our plant environments.

Climate change and the environment are high on our agenda. These are technical subjects which can be better understood through covering then in a captivating adventure story. Through this story we get a look at the way animals living in nature try to understand why we are so destructive? How we destroy the environment for other creatures through changing the environment to suit only our needs.

This is a story which rolls from one adventure straight into more adventures.

Chapter 1, Page 5: Sets the scene, a beautiful summers day in the wilds but danger is never far away: Suddenly White Eyes' ears detect a noise not in keeping with normal woodland sounds. His eyes follow the curving course of the river. Then he sees them; three men, they are stealthily making their way along the banks of the river. With them are two terriers, the hunter dogs are in tune with their masters and moving silently.

Death and Rescue. The Young Otter Pups. Page 9: The mother otter falls to the ground, dying from the fatal shotgun wound while her pups look on, finding difficulty comprehending what has just happened. The two dogs bark excitedly as they rush forward along the curving edge of the river to attack the defenceless young otter pups. Going into the river offers some safety for the pups but they panic and run away from the river. They run and climb up the slippery mud slope on and when they reach the top of the slope they then start running towards a dense bramble bush thicket and both dogs are close behind them.

The mother otter falls to the ground, dying from the fatal shotgun wound while her pups look on, finding difficulty comprehending what has just happened. The two dogs bark excitedly as they rush forward along the curving edge of the river to attack the defenceless young otter pups.

The Gathering page 12. - Introduces the gathering at which our fox hero takes on an agreed number of challenges, This leads White Eyes to the Research Centre:

The story of the confrontation between men, his dogs and the woodland fox was passed through the community. In a large clearing in the wood they gathered. The wise animals of the community and animals not credited with being very wise and the clearing was full to capacity. The sun filtered through the trees to fall in dancing speckles of light on the gathering. They were packed together, shoulder to shoulder, small animals peeping from between the legs of larger animals. The only animals not to be present at the meeting are the Rats and the rats do not respect any living creature; they do not fear humans and they choose to live in the woodlands, the forests, the mountains, the human cities and towns.

The Research Centre. Page 34: White Eyes turned his head and craned his neck to look through the small wire reinforced window set in the door. What he viewed within tore at the very roots of his soul. He had always disliked dogs and had very good reason for feeling that way. Behind the window in the far corner of the dimly lit room laid a young dog. The dog had seen them yet showed no signs of interest. The poor animal showed all the signs of having had his spirit completely broken. The large brown eyes showed no signs of acknowledgment; they possessed a far away haunted look, the kind of look only those whom have undergone untold horrors can exhibit.
