Lisa Joy Theris survived 25 terrifying days and nights lost in a dense forest in rural Alabama. She had no clothes, no food and no phone. Theris had absolutely nothing, except the will to survive. Her story made national news. After many exclusive interviews with Lisa, the harsh details of what Theris endured are now being released for the first time.
Lisa's problems originated in high school, when she began abusing alcohol and Xanax. For the next few years, she struggled to remain clean and sober, only to fall back into drug use and eventually falling in with a group of ice abusers.
Scared when her "friends" allegedly burglarized a hunting lodge, Lisa fled into the surrounding woods. There her companions found her, drugged her, abused her, and finally abandoned her naked body to the elements.
Her tormentors assumed she would die. Lisa, lost and alone, assumed the same. But instead, a deep will to live kept Lisa going through twenty-five days of hell-and helped her recover afterward.
The remarkable true story of one woman's struggle for life, Naked with Only the Will to Survive is both an inspirational tale of determination and a reminder of the devastating effects of substance abuse. Not everyone could survive what Lisa endured-but she did, and this near-death encounter changed her life.
