Al llegar a este estudio del Libro de Nahum, no voy a decir, como digo en la mayoría de los libros, que éste es uno de los mejores libros de la Biblia. Puedo decir honestamente que este Libro de Nahum no es el libro más grande de la Biblia, pero sí es un gran libro, y la Palabra de Dios lo presenta con un propósito muy definido. Me atrevo a decir que muy pocos lectores han oído jamás alguna predicación basada en este Libro de Nahum. Este libro ha recibido alguna atención por parte de aquéllos que presentan profecías exageradas.

Este pequeño libro de Habacuc comienza en la penumbra, pero concluye en la gloria. Comienza con un signo de interrogación y concluye con un signo de admiración. El libro de Habacuc es un gran "por qué". ¿Por qué permite Dios el mal? Es una pregunta que cualquier persona que piensa se ha hecho. Creo que este libro es la respuesta a esa pregunta. ¿Arreglará Dios las injusticias de este mundo? Este libro responde a esa pregunta.

El pequeño Libro de Sofonías no podrá llegar a ocupar el lugar de Juan 3:16 y del Evangelio según San Juan, como el número uno en popularidad en la Biblia. El contenido de este pequeño libro nunca ha sido muy conocido, y tengo mis dudas de que haya sido leído mucho. Me atrevo a decir que muy pocos han oído un mensaje basado en este libro.

El tema de Hageo es el templo, la reconstrucción y renovación del templo. Ésa era la pasión suprema de la profecía, y él no sólo reprendía al pueblo por su demora en la reedificación del templo, sino que los animaba y los ayudaba en esta tarea.

Este Libro que Zacarías escribió, tiene las características de un apocalipsis. Las visiones de él se parecen a aquéllas presentadas en los Libros de Daniel y Apocalipsis. Y aquí hay algunos hechos interesantes de notar. Daniel nació en la tierra de Israel, pero él escribió su libro fuera de la tierra de Israel, en Babilonia. Zacarías nació fuera de la tierra de Israel, probablemente cerca de los canales de Babilonia, pero él escribió dentro de Israel. Ahora, Daniel y Ezequiel y Juan, todos escribieron fuera de la tierra de Israel, y ellos todos escribieron libros que se asemejan a un apocalipsis. Sólo Zacarías estuvo en Israel cuando él escribió su apocalipsis. En el día de desaliento que cubría el remanente, él pudo ver la gloria en todo el éxtasis y visión de esperanza. Él tiene más profecías mesiánicas que ningún otro de los profetas menores. Aunque Zacarías, es un contemporáneo de Hageo, este libro está en contraste directo con el de Hageo.

Malaquías cierra el telón en el Antiguo Testamento. Él es el último de una larga línea de profetas que predijeron la venida del Mesías. En realidad, aunque tengamos que ir hasta mil años atrás, uno puede ver que, a través de los siglos, Dios estaba aumentando el tiempo, es decir, el ritmo, al decirle a la gente en cuanto a la venida del Mesías; y la última voz que se escucha es la de este hombre, Malaquías.
