Hierfür werden verschiedene Ansätze analysiert und auf die Beteiligung bzw. Präsenz von vier relevanten Unternehmensbeispielen untersucht. Das Ziel dieser Untersuchung ist es, Rückschlüsse auf mögliche Handlungsempfehlungen für die deutsche Textilindustrie zu ziehen, um der steigenden Relevanz des Themas "Nachhaltigkeit" gerecht zu werden. Diese Feststellungen dienen zur Klärung der Frage, welche Ansätze zur Stärkung des nachhaltigen Bewusstseins bereits von den beteiligten Akteure entwickelt wurden und welche Handlungen noch notwendig sind, um das Bewusstsein für Nachhaltigkeit dauerhaft zu stärken. Um fundierte Rückschlüsse für die Anwendung der Handlungsempfehlungen auf die deutsche Textilindustrie treffen zu können, wurden fünf verschiedene Ansätze untersucht. Die theoretischen Grundlagen dieser Ausarbeitung stützen sich auf Internetquellen, PDF-Dokumente und Fachliteratur und stellen das anzuwendende Grundwissen für die Untersuchung dar. In der Untersuchung wurde festgestellt, dass sich viele der Ansätze zur Stärkung des nachhaltigen Bewusstseins in ihren Grundsätzen überschneiden. Zudem wird die Wahl der richtigen Realisierungsansätze durch die Vielfalt der möglichen Beteiligungs- und Zertifizierungsmöglichkeiten erschwert. Um den Bezug auf die deutsche Textilindustrie zu gewährleisten, wurde der staatliche Ansatz des Bundesentwicklungsministers Gerd Müller untersucht, wobei festgestellt wurde, dass sich wichtige deutsche Textilunternehmen der Beteiligung an dem Bündnis für nachhaltige Textilien aufgrund der nicht realisierbaren Implementierung entziehen. Die kritische Betrachtung des schwedischen Textilunternehmens H&M zeigte, wie Unternehmen, die sich schon mit dem Thema "Nachhaltigkeit
