El estudio de la Instrumentación desde los fenómenos tímbricos. Compilado por Carlos Mastropietro. Este texto es el resultado de una serie de trabajos que toman como eje el aspecto tímbrico en el terreno de la instrumentación, realizados a lo largo de diversos Proyectos de Investigación vinculados con esta temática, en el marco del Programa de Incentivos de la Universidad Nacional de La Plata. Los mismos fueron llevados a cabo entre 2002 y 2012 principalmente por integrantes de la Cátedra de Instrumentación y Orquestación de la Facultad de Bellas Artes.

De estos equipos de trabajo surgió oportunamente la inquietud de tratar determinadas cuestiones críticas presentes en la bibliografía de Instrumentación y Orquestación, entre ellas, una que parece ser evidente y casi tautológica: el escaso acercamiento al aspecto tímbrico en el estudio de los temas de instrumentación y asimismo, la poca objetividad advertida al presentar algunas cuestiones de implicancia técnica. En este sentido el principal objetivo de esta propuesta es complementar, desde una aproximación primordialmente tímbrica, los materiales existentes de la disciplina y, a la vez, obtener nuevos tópicos a partir del estudio de obras tratadas desde esta perspectiva.Consideramos que resulta pertinente dar cuenta de estas investigaciones y sus conclusiones en la concreción de este texto, el cual no hubiese sido posible de no haber contado con la inserción dentro del Programa de Incentivos de la UNLP y, ante todo, de la buena disposición y dedicación de los integrantes del equipo. De allí un agradecimiento a todos los involucrados
