Bachelorarbeit aus dem Jahr 2017 im Fachbereich Didaktik für das Fach Deutsch - Pädagogik, Sprachwissenschaft, Note: 2,0, Universität zu Köln (Institut für deutsche Sprache und Literatur II), Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Die vorliegende Arbeit beschäftigt sich zunächst mit den Genderdifferenzen im Lesen und den empirisch erhobenen Begründungen diesbezüglich und geht der Frage nach der damit einhergehenden geschlechtsspezifischen Förderung von Lesemotivation bei Jungen nach. Da vor allem die PISA-Studie aus dem Jahr 2000 dazu geführt hat, dass sich zunehmend mit einer Veränderung des deutschen Schulsystems beschäftigt wurde, beginnt die vorliegende Arbeit mit einer knappen Übersicht über die wichtigsten Befunde. Dabei wurde speziell die Studie aus dem Jahr 2000 statt einer aktuelleren gewählt, weil diese den Fokus auf die Lesekompetenz gerichtet hat. Daran anknüpfend werden die eingeführten Begriffe Lesekompetenz und Lesemotivation näher erläutert, bis das zweite Kapitel schließlich mit der Verdeutlichung des Zusammenhangs beider Begrifflichkeiten abschließt. Aufgrund der Genderdifferenzen die Lektüre von Texten betreffend, auf welche die eingangs vorgestellte PISA-Studie aufmerksam gemacht hat, werden diese im vierten Kapitel skizziert. Dazu zählen Unterschiede bezüglich der Lesequantität, der Lesestoffe beziehungsweise Lektürepräferenzen, der Lesefreude und der Lesekompetenzen. Das fünfte Kapitel findet schließlich Erklärungen für die vorgestellten Genderdifferenzen im Lesen, welche sowohl in biologischen beziehungsweise hirnphysiologischen und soziologischen beziehungsweise psychologischen Ansätzen zu finden sind. Dabei steht die Betrachtung des zuletzt aufgeführten Ansatzes im Fokus. Aus diesen gewonnen Erkenntnissen werden im sechsten Kapitel didaktische Konsequenzen, welche in gesellschaftliche und schulische Aufgabenfelder zu segmentieren sind, behandelt.
