Inhaltsangabe: Gang der Untersuchung: Die vorliegende Diplomarbeit zum Thema Möglichkeiten und Grenzen zur Qualifizierung von Führungskräften gliedert sich in drei große Abschnitte: Kapitel 1 „Betriebliche Weiterbildung in der Informations- und Wissensgesellschaft" hat zum Ziel, Führungskräfte und Weiterbildungsverantwortliche aufmerksam zu machen, auf den wichtigen Stellenwert der betrieblichen Weiterbildung in der Informations- und Wissensgesellschaft. Um dies zu erreichen, werden zuerst Gründe für die betriebliche Weiterbildung (Kap. 1.1), wie Wissenswachstum, Wissensmanagement und Erhaltung der Beschäftigungsfähigkeit aufgezeigt. Daraufhin wird die Kosten-Nutzen-Relation der betrieblichen Weiterbildung (Kap 1.2) abgehandelt. Schließlich werden Trends in der betrieblichen Weiterbildung (Kap 1.3), die sich im Bezug auf den Lernort Arbeitsplatz, das Lernen just-in-time und die Corporate University als besondere Organisationsform abzeichnen, dargestellt. Zu den zwei wichtigsten Trends der Zukunft befragten Landmann, Brönner und Little Peter F. Drucker, den „Vater modernen Managements" und Peter M. Senge, den „Vater organisationalen Lernens". In ihrem Beitrag fassen sie die Beantwortung der Fragestellungen wie folgt zusammen: Ein Großteil, wenn nicht die Mehrheit der Führungskräfte wird bis zu ihrer Pensionierung weder bei ihrem jetzigen Arbeitgeber noch in ihrer heutigen Funktion tätig sein. Sie werden eher den Job wechseln, kürzer eine neue Tätigkeit ausüben und früher die angestellte Tätigkeit aufgeben. Sie werden länger beruflich tätig sein - bis zu ihrem 70. oder 80. Lebensjahr, als Unternehmer, Freelancer, Berater, Coaches oder Interims-Manager. Solange diese Menschen beruflich tätig sind, werden sie sich permanent weiterbilden (müssen).
