Dabei ist die Qualität einer Internetseite entscheidend für ihren Erfolg. Doch wie kann die Qualität und der Erfolg einer Website bewertet werden. Welche Qualitätskriterien gelten? Welche qualitativen und quantitativen Methoden zur Evaluation von Internetauftritten - inhaltsanalytische Ansätze, Methoden der Online-Befragung, Nutzerzählungen - sind sinnvoll? Welche Perspektive - Anbieter, Nutzer, oder Experte - ist bei der Konzeption und Bewertung von Internetauftritten am wichtigsten? Für den Umweltbereich ist zudem entscheidend, wie Umweltkommunikation über das Internet erfolgreich sein kann, wie abgestufte Informationskonzepte unter Einbeziehung verschiedener Medien realisiert werden können und welche Erfolgskriterien zu einer verstärkten Nutzung in der Zielgruppe führen. Dazu hat das Zentrum für Umweltkommunikation (ZUK) der Deutschen Bundesstiftung Umwelt (DBU) die Studie "Internetanwendungen im Natur- und Umweltschutz" erstellt. Ziel dieser Arbeit ist es, die Möglichkeiten der Evaluation von Internetauftritten anhand von wissenschaftlicher Literatur und praktisch am Beispiel der Studie aufzuzeigen und im Rahmen einer Meta-Evaluation zu bewerten.
