In the Book of Habakkuk, God answers a question asked of by the prophet by saying the following, "And the Lord answered me, and said, Write the vision and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it" (Habakkuk 2:2). The reason that so many people, both believers and nonbelievers, are in the conditions they are in is because they have allowed themselves to "lose" the vision, especially the vision of our coming of the Lord Jesus. They have all owed themselves to be "blinded" by the "things" of this world. The apostle Paul stated it like this: "In whom the God of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine until them . . ." (2 Corinthians 4:4) We live in a society that is full of hate, violence, destruction, wars, and rumors of wars, discrimination, prejudice, racism, poverty, atheism, no reverence for God for God at all, no fear of God Almighty. The Bible lets us know: "The fool hath said in his heart; There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good" (Psalm 14:1). The reason so many people, both believers and nonbelievers, have "lost the vision" is because they are not "seeking the after God," "they are not turning from their wicked ways." This is the reason District Elder Ronald Gene Oliver put together this book, My Thoughts, not only to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ, but to let people who have feelings of "no hope" that "God is still alive" and that "he is still on the throne and in control" regardless of all the negativity that exists in the world. As has been stated before, this book is not about fiction; it is not a novel or a group of short stories. It is an "anthology,"-i.e., a group of writings on various subjects having been preached, taught, and presented at different Bible classes, church revivals, seminars, workshops, conferences over a span of thirty-plus years under the divine inspiration of God's Holy Spirit and impressed upon the heart of this author to put together in writing to touch the "heart" and "soul" whomever is the reader.
