At eighteen years old, Carl Finwall embarked on a quest to understand why his spirit was so restless and why he always ran away from people who got close to him. What followed was a ten-year odyssey around the world that took him to Europe, Asia, South America, and beyond.
Inspired by a random social media message from an old flame in 2014, Finwall began to write down some of these experiences-and the more he wrote, the more he remembered.
My Ten-Year Journey contains the witty, wise, and fascinating tales of his adventures that lasted until, at the age of twenty-eight, he met a woman who helped turn his life around. Only then did he discover the terrible family secret that was the source of his personal turmoil.
Filled with humor, courage, and inspiration, this extraordinary memoir follows Finwall's journey to the steps of the Eiffel Tower, a camel's back in North Africa, and even a teacher's desk in New Mexico as he sought answers to questions he only vaguely understood.
