About the Book

It's of decade's long loneliness, solitude, isolation, and about the tragic story of Miss. Vimala Menon of her endless waiting for the deceiver Casanova, Mr. Sudheer Kumar Mishra. we can see the intense reflection of pale depression in her face...!!
The shrill voice of a lonely traveler who realized only too late that all her hopes were wasted, they were covered in pasty mud, and her youth was wrinkled and end up in greying her hair...! The voice that came out from beyond the decade's, travels through the ages and rings in the ears again and again...!
"Vimala... Vimala Menon "......! That tiny piece of moment...! Far away on the horizon, I felt like a bird falling down with a broken and folded wing, being alone from a flock of birds flying at dusk. My whole body was shaking and there was a strong trembling throughout my body...!!! The whole my face was red and the whole body was sweating...the lips were trembling...!
Not knowing what all these people around staring at me... I blinked my eyes and shrugged my shoulders and shook both my hands and stood there with my mouth open...!! MT's famous story mysterious character "Vimala Menon " is standing before me now...!
Only poor Buddu could not understand this and was watching in the distance...he doubted whether I was the lover she was expecting for many decades in all the tourist seasons in this snowy place of Nainital losing all her youth and life...!!
All quiet and Still...!
On the hillside behind me, I could distinctly hear from far away the sound of horses' hooves climbing up to China Peak, flanked by pine trees...!! And the hum of my heart in the midday violin rhythm...!!! I could not believe what I saw in front of my eyes here and I've stood motionless for a few minutes more. As if she understood all these thoughts of my mind very well, Vimala Menon smiled at me and slowly got up from the stairs to the snow-covered mall road, walked with great difficulty crossed the steep part and slowly walked towards the school hostel side by the single lane to the "Golden Nook " ****...!
He held his breath and looked at it for some more time till she disappears in the misty fog...!! Everywhere there is only heavy silence in the coldness of the fog and snow falling...!

MT sir's famous and beautiful short novel "Manju, The Mist"...!!
**Mayflower... the name of Buddu's canoe, Buddu was an orphan whose father was a British and mother was a Tribal of Himalayan mountains of Kumaon region
***It was a Raksha Bandhan day. A traditional Hindu culture of getting a thread tied on the wrist by all sisters to their brothers, promising that he would safeguard her forever.
****Golden Nook...the tourist cottage near Vimala's school hostel, where the snowman Sardarji used to live...Please refer The Mist by M T...!!
***It is generally believed that Naini lake is the place where both the eyes of the goddess fell when Lord Shiva carried the body of the sacrificed goddess 'Sati' to Kailasa in the ancient story and hindu mythology.
