My Children I Hope is a book that has been in process ever since the spring of 1977...and continues in process.
"Hope deferred (put off to a later time; postponed) maketh the heart sick: but when the desire cometh, it is a tree of life."
--Proverbs 13:12
The front cover design, of a vine bearing grapes, depicts the success of an intervention. When you compare the same vine, of the book cover's backside, the wild and overgrown vine had been unattended for years. The process of literally drying up is at stake.
After twenty-one years the author, Daniel Brian Simmons, witnesses his own personal experience of God's intervention and rescue to save his life, from the destruction and temptations, this present life, had offered him. The vine speaks of a lineage, that now has hope, but requires unwavering faith and perseverance in God to see our generation through, with real love.
The written word will outlive us. What better inheritance can we leave behind? The author in this book has used a pencil and paper throughout the decades, to remedy the lack of a close friend. Inspiration came to mind; he believes by faith in God. Writing poems satisfies and succors each present situation. It leaves a sense of integrity and dignity: a worthwhileness to keep his present life clean and in order before God and others.
Shall not the truth be conveyed from now on, whether by you or me and hopefully by those we leave behind?
"As for me, this is my covenant (agreement) with them, saith the Lord; My spirit that is upon thee, and my words which I have put in thy mouth, shall not depart out of thy mouth, nor out of the mouth of thy seed, nor out of the mouth of thy seed's seed, saith the Lord, from henceforth and forever."
--Isaiah 59:21
