We think we are exercising individual free choice, but we aren't...until we discover this mutual blind spot.
We know from observation, and now from neuroscience, all of us have this blind spot in our early teen years. If we do not discover it, we could unconsciously (without choice) live the rest of our lives unaware of it. It will then prevent us from achieving full maturity in our skill of human self-consciousness.
Up to the early teen years, the only primary pattern of relating we know is obedience to our parents to survive. We do not have our power; they have it. In our teen years, we will unconsciously (without choice) sustain this pattern by giving our power to a parent-substitute, today usually our freely chosen beliefs in words. Obedience to them, regardless of their content, is now in conflict with our newly discovered ability and right to exercise individual free choice. However, since we freely choose our beliefs in words, we think we can still exercise individual free choice. We can't. We do not have our power. This is now our personal blind spot.
The only remedy is to, in the teen years or older, become aware of this inner conflict, and then use our now skill of human self-consciousness as a sixth sense. We keep our power, all of it, and solely and repeatedly use it to study our direct experience. There we can discover it is obvious and in plain sight the universe operates as an indivisible whole, the most fundamental fact in physics. Therefore, there is not a second thing to receive our power. This is the natural, effortless, freely chosen, and permanent ending of the pattern of unconsciously (without choice) giving our power to a parent-substitute. Also, you will be glad to know, no effort, force, or discipline is necessary. This is the exercise of "mature free choice." It also allows us to master the last two of the seven layers of maturity of the skill of human self-consciousness. That results in the consistent experience of natural confidence and feeling of contented joy as the container of all of our particular experiences.
Herein you will also be guided into inviting your romantic partner to join you in the joy of operating at full maturity in this skill. How we can mature our democracies and the economy to do so will also be presented. And only by our leaders in both the US and China achieving mastery in this skill will we find a permanent and joyful solution to the emerging conflict between our two nations and social philosophies. How that can happen is also described. Finally, there are 10 recommended priorities for the US 2020 Presidential candidates.
It is 2019. Our discovery of this mutual blind spot reveals we are now overly ready to master the last two layers of maturity of the skill of human self-consciousness.
