About the Book

The first book of the trilogy, The Druid Menace, told the story of the refugees from a dying planet who came to Earth two hundred years earlier. In that story, two of the younger descendants, Terri and Matt, learned of their heritage, the history of their race and the destruction of their home world. They learned of the powers that each possessed, and trained in their use, at the same time falling in love and committing to each other. Their families had been pursued over time by an ancient order of Druids, seeking to capture them and use their science for their own purposes, drawing to a dramatic conclusion when Matt and Terri destroyed the Australian branch of the Druid Order. In this, the second book of the trilogy, the reader is again taken back two hundred years to the refugee landing in England, and follows the story of the survivors of that landing, the slaughter of their fellows, and their trek to Ireland to join the other refugees. Through this story we are led to the birth of a cross breed, half Kuscan and half Human, her capture and the continuing battle between Terri, Matt and the Druids.
About the Author: Eric D. Bedford (Rick to his friends) is a retired police man, having served for 37 years in two Australian Police Forces. He lives in South East Queensland, Australia, with his wife Sherol and their two old cats. Currently working for Arts Queensland in the Qld. Government, writing is fitted in around working, riding his motorbike, running a RV club and touring with their caravan. Educated to year eleven standard at High School in South Australia, he joined the South Australian Police at age sixteen, commencing the three year training program in 1966, and graduated as a constable in 1969, serving for twenty three years before resigning at the rank of Senior Sergeant and moving to Queensland, where following a stint as Chef Concierge at the Sheraton Mirage Hotel on the Gold Coast, he joined the Queensland Police Service, quickly rising to the rank of Sergeant, thanks to his previous police service. Three marriages, six children and step children, mortgages and the like ensured that the dream to write novels got put on hold by all the associated demands of earning a living and raising children. An average sportsman, he enjoyed playing Australian Rules Football over 29 years, finally hanging up his boots at age 39, but continuing involvement with sports as a referee for Netball, as well as finding some time to lost small white balls on various golf courses. A self taught guitarist, and reasonable vocalist, able to hold a tune, he sometimes visits his poor playing and singing on friends and relatives. Reading has always been a passion, especially science fiction, fantasy, drama and true crime, which kept the pilot light burning over the years, ready to light the fire of his own writing when the time was right.
