Musik ist demnach schon immer ein essenzieller Bestandteil des Lebens vieler Menschen. Die Rezeption von Musik stand schon immer unter vielen verschiedenen Einflüssen und daher fanden in diesem Feld große Veränderungen durch die Geschichte hinweg statt. Diese Veränderungen haben wiederum Einflüsse auf die musikalischen Präferenzen der Hörenden. Durch das digitale Zeitalter, in dem wir aktuell leben, haben sich Neuerungen des Hörverhaltens ergeben. Musik ist nun von einer Omnipräsenz geprägt. Egal wo wir uns befinden erklingt Musik und für die meisten Menschen ist, durch die Verbreitung des Smartphones, Musik überall problemlos zugänglich. Dieser Omnipräsenz von Musik muss im schulischen Musikunterricht Rechnung getragen werden. Durchaus auch im Sinne einer offen-kritischen Betrachtung. Es stellen sich also folgende Fragen: Wie hat sich der Zugang und die Haltung der HörerInnen zur Musik im digitalen Zeitalter verändert? Welche Rolle spielen in diesem Zusammenhang Präferenzen und Hörertypen? In dieser Arbeit werden wir versuchen, diese Fragen anzugehen und gleichzeitig zu klären, welche Chancen der Musikunterricht in der Sekundarstufe I bieten kann. Hierfür werden wir zunächst das Hörverhalten von Personen, mit Hilfe der Ansätze von Herrmann Rauhe, erklären. Im nächsten Kapitel wird darauf eingegangen, wie sich musikalische Präferenzen und die Erforschung dieser zusammensetzen. Im Anschluss werden wir klären, inwiefern das Hörverhalten und die Präferenzen von Hörenden in Zusammenhang stehen. Hier wird ein besonderes Augenmerk auf die soziale Herkunft der Hörenden gelegt. Zuletzt werden in dieser Arbeit die Auswirkungen des digitalen Zeitalters auf die Musikhörenden und deren Präferenzen diskutiert. An
