About the Book

ENGLISH DESCRIPTION

This posthumous work by Vicente Leñero is a collection of short texts where he narrates a vast variety of themes like: a love story, personal memories, a tribute to deceased writers, anecdotes about the literary world, as well as a fantastic tale. Here we get an inside look at how Leñero narrates what he has learned during a lifetime dedicated to the written word (journalistic, theatrical, narrative), and how each piece clearly details lessons about literature and the art of narrating.

In turn, this is how he presents the text "To Smoke or Not to Smoke" about a long addiction to nicotine; "Stalking Marcos" which chronicles an interview with Subcomandante Marcos in the middle of the Zapatista revolution; and "Yuliet", a true account written as a fictional story of his relationship with a wealthy lesbian student whose lover dies; and finally in "Funeral Prayers" he writes obituaries for Ricardo Garibay, Víctor Hugo Rascón Banda, and Miguel Ángel Granados Chapa.
