About the Book

Mrs. Pinkelmeyer, Silliest, Warmest Know-It-All(TM) from Poppingham, England, and her furry brown dog, Moopus McGlinden, prance back for a second adventure. This beau fully illustrated story continues to bring the award-winning (2011 PTPA Media Award) Pinkelmeyer character to life, teaching important lessons with a light, humorous touch. Mrs. Pinkelmeyer and Moopus face their fears and take their first flight to New York City. Together, they learn to navigate the challenges of air travel and remain unruffled when they become separated in the Big Apple. The ending provides a delightful reunion involving hot dogs, sure to appeal to young children. Mrs. Pinkelmeyer and Moopus McGlinden Prance into New York City teaches how to handle new experiences and separation with calm. Book three won't be far behind, in which Mrs. P. and Moopus find more surprises in New York City. Jennifer Kelman grew up in Jericho, New York, where at age 14 she began babysitting and volunteering at the local hospital to help children suffering from illness. Her love of children prompted her education and career path, graduating with a BA in Sociology from American University and then earning a Masters in Social Work from NYU. She founded a non-profit organization to prevent eating disorders, lecturing to more than 10,000 students and parents. Taking care of her nephew when his parents were away is how she discovered her storytelling muse. Improvising characters, channeling silly voices, and doing impersonations, Jennifer created Mrs. Pinkelmeyer, Silliest, Warmest Know-It-All(TM). Now she has created a line of products including dolls, music, bobble heads, temporary tattoos, and a children's book series based on Mrs. Pinkelmeyer. Her first Pinkelmeyer book (along with the doll and CD) received the 2011 PTPA (Parent Tested Parent Approved) Media Award. PTPA is an organization designed to provide objective means to discover, appraise, and promote new products designed to enrich family living. Jennifer has also been writing and publishing articles, and appearing on many radio shows about parenting issues, including bullying and separation anxiety. When not in Pinkelmeyer mode, she is an avid athlete who enjoys tennis and golf. Motherhood, however, is Jennifer's greatest joy, with her toddling twins, a boy and a girl, to inspire her. Mrs. Pinkelmeyer and Moopus McGlinden Burn the Rrrrump Rrrroast is the first book in the Mrs. Pinkelmeyer series. Mrs. Pinkelmeyer and Moopus McGlinden Prance into New York City is the second book in the series.
