About the Book

"Might we instead pretend to like one another for a change, that way I am not forced to engage the Idius Benedictus rule again, proving that yes, I am indeed in charge," he states, as a requirement rather than a request.

"You've a fine way of keeping me in my place, I'll have you know, a fine way indeed," she says with a tone indicative of nearing the edge of a cliff, in which she will push him, given a chance.

Mr. Mrs. Miss Ms. & Dick is a mystery to some, a romance to others, and a comedy if one happens to exercise a sense of humor; and, of course all perceptions are dependent on the reality of a dysfunctional observer.

Our tale begins by alternating between the world of Netherland and the Real World. First, in Netherland, Cleopatra and Julius Caesar reside in a mansion, and live an extravagant life as ghosts. Although conditions at the mansion could certainly be worse, the testy state of their relationship is a result of an ambitious desire to reenter the world of the living, with all intentions of regaining power over the whole of the kingdom.

After two thousand years, Julius and Cleopatra finally learn that their time in the in-between world of Netherland was because of a spell that was cast upon them by Calphurnia, Julius' vengeful former wife. Once discovering this, the long awaited secret to reentry is revealed, and then Julius commands his armies of the Real World to bring them back.

In the Real World, the reader is dropped into a paper town in California where the focus of the tale is finding love, and United Planners, a matchmaking company is the tool. Each of the highlighted characters working at United Planners are experiencing their own quirky journey to find love, and the collective effort for love ultimately becomes the vehicle to bring Cleopatra and Julius back together.

Meanwhile, Calphurnia, lives as a mortal in the Real World, and is known as Rose. Her time comes to an end when Cleopatra and Julius learn that her death will set them free. The bodies that Cleopatra and Julius inhabit, once Calphurnia dies, are not revealed to the reader, as well as a plethora of other noteworthy undocumented facts.

As it turns out, coming back and ruling the world is a task best performed anonymously and humorously, at least until an alternative solution is found.
