About the Book

Mr. Fox has a tail...err, a tale for you. You see, everyone knows that Mr. Fox absolutely loves his socks - four in total, one on each paw. Wherever he goes Mr. Fox looks so sophisticated in his socks, as foxes tend to do. BUT one day Mr. Fox wakes up to find that his socks are no longer on his paws! Someone came in during the night and stole Mr. Fox's socks right off his feet! But who could it be? Who would have taken Mr. Fox's beloved socks? And why?! Join Mr. Fox on a mystery adventure as this Scotland Yard detective follows the clues and visits the suspects who could have committed the crime. Will Mr. Fox get his socks back? Will the true criminal be captured? There's only one way to find out! A happy, humorous, and heart-warmingly furry story, Mr. Fox Has Lost His Socks reminds all of us that what matters most may not be what we believe it to be, that the prized possessions we are often so afraid of losing may not be worth our worries in the end. To quote another famous fox, "What is essential is invisible to the eye," even if it takes Mr. Fox losing his favorite socks to learn this valuable lesson.
About the Author: When James (Jim) A. Mourey, Ph.D., was a wee lad, his family had a book series that taught virtues using famous people from history - like Thomas Edison and Louis Pasteur - joined by anthropomorphic animal sidekicks. His family also kept other books around, lots of books, including Aesop's Fables, Mother Goose's Nursery Rhymes, Grimm's Fairy Tales, and other delightful stories featuring cute animals and a "moral of the story." Thus, it comes as no surprise that this book, Mr. Fox Has Lost His Socks, is the third children's book in a series of three that Jim has written in honor of the books he and his siblings loved so dearly growing up. Day to day, Jim is an Assistant Professor of Marketing at DePaul University in Chicago and a Visiting Professor of Marketing at IÉSEG in Paris and Lille, France. Jim's classes have been described as a "twice-a-week comedy show filled with knowledge." He has over a decade's worth of experience working, teaching, and consulting on the topics of marketing and relationship development and delivers keynote speeches and workshops on these subjects across the country. Jim serves as the Vice President for the international non-profit Creative Opportunities Unlimited, which helps bring creative problem solving to children around the world. Jim also volunteers for the global Odyssey of the Mind school program, helping to coordinate the Illinois association. For adults, Jim has also authored two books - Urge: Why You Really Want What You Want (and How to Make Everyone Want What You've Got) and Fusion: A Modern How-To Guide for Integrated Marketing Strategy (From Creative Spark to Synergistic Explosion). In his spare time Jim also sings in a Chicago-based a cappella group (The Uptones), hones his improvisational skills at The Second City, and does his best to make the world a smarter, funnier, more musical, better loved, and more loving place one day at a time...he would also likely be cast as Diego if, for some reason, there is ever a live film version of Go, Diego, Go!
