Young adults are in pain, and something has got to change. Common struggles they experience include feeling alone in their thoughts, feelings, and experiences; difficulty balancing family, friendships, academics, extra-curricular activities, and other responsibilities; difficulty finding and connecting with their authentic selves; difficulty overcoming major hardships they experienced in the past or are experiencing in the present; and difficulty imagining their futures, believing in their dreams, and taking the necessary steps towards accomplishing their goals.
The reality is that few young adults-or even adults-have the coping skills necessary to effectively move past obstacles in life. Many people reach adulthood still lacking the ability to self-reflect, self-analyze, and successfully go after their dreams.
This workbook is a place for people to acknowledge their current reality, deal with yesterday, aspire for the future, develop a no-nonsense attitude, and learn accountability. With over 20 years of experience as a high school teacher, Camille Adana has developed worksheets with writing exercises and experience-based learning activities designed to shift perceptions and spark insight. The book also includes examples of the worksheets completed by real young adults.
This workbook is designed with three groups of people in mind:
1. Adults who want a workspace to explore their inner world, identify destructive patterns, and take action to create the life they desire.
2. Young adults (age 13 and up) who need a space to face hardships, find inner motivation, and be authentic to themselves.
3. Guardians, parents, teachers, coaches, and role models who want to support the young adults in their lives.
