About the Book

MOTHERING THE DIVINE: Birthing, Nurturing and Celebrating Your Divine Self by Shan Watters takes you on a sacred and transcendent journey through the aspects of the Divine Mother and Her emerging importance in our collective mindscape. A wisdom offering that has been buried by a patriarchal mindset for hundreds of years, Mothering The Divine teaches us how to reawaken and utilize the innate aspects of Her Divine wisdom so we can reconnect to wellbeing and joy. Integrating insights from ancient and contemporary spiritual masters as well as her own explorations as a deep Buddhist practitioner, Watters offers powerful methods to master the energies of Divine transformation. Through reflection, exploration, and hands-on practice with the thirteen Moons that embody Her Wisdom Cycle, Mothering The Divine offers anyone on a spiritual quest, tangible ways to honor, support, and be in service to their own life and dreams. Written for the serious practitioner as well as the novice spiritual pilgrim, Mothering the Divine is a reliable guide to discovering individual and collective wholeness. Life enhancing and co-creative, Mothering the Divine offers practical wisdoms and imaginative insights into how each one of us can access the Mother Goddess within and recognize the truth of this expansive, illuminating, and life-affirming energy.
About the Author: Shan Watters is an author, artist, curator, art consultant and dedicated Vajrayana practitioner. Under the auspices of H.E. Chagdud Tulku Rinpoche, she worked as the Project Coordinator of the Shi-tro Mandala for Universal Peace Project, a five-year venture that supported Tibetan master artists as they built the first, three-dimensional traditional Tibetan mandala in the United States. Shan was also co-creator of Tools for Peace, an arts curriculum that used the Shi-tro Mandala as the basis for teaching peacekeeping in schools, juvenile detention centers, retreat centers, and summer camps throughout California and continues to serve over one million people today. Shan also created and taught an arts and peacekeeping curriculum for the Living Arts Institute in Los Angeles and Kauai, utilizing a 40 foot-canvas labyrinth as a meditation vehicle. Prior to her work in arts education and peacekeeping, Shan owned and directed LA Art and The Sports & Entertainment Gallery, two award-winning galleries in Los Angeles and worked as an art consultant for Lonny Gans & Associates. She holds degrees in Fine Art and Anthropology. Shan is a lifelong student of His Eminence Chagdud Tulku Rinpoche and the Venerable Dhyani Ywahoo. She has also received teachings and empowerments from many esteemed Tibetan Masters including, His Holiness the Dalai Lama, His Holiness Drodrubchen Rinpoche, His Holiness Kusum Lingpa, His Holiness Sakya Trizen, His Holiness Taklung Tsetral Rinpoche, His Eminence Namkha Rinpoche, The Venerable Gonjang Rinpoche, Lama Tharchin Rinpoche, The Venerable Lama Gyatso and others. Shan lives with her husband George on the Central Coast of California where she delights in being a mother and a grandmother.
