Nach einer theoretischen Reflexion von Moralisierungen zeigt eine Diskursanalyse anhand von Zeitungsartikeln zum Golfkrieg und zum Vietnamkrieg anschaulich das Potential der Strategie in unterschiedlichen historischen Kontexten auf und vermittelt einen Eindruck von der Überzeugungskraft der moralisierten Deutungsmuster. Diese zeigt sich insbesondere am moralisierten Golfkriegsdiskurs, in dem die Kriegsbefürworter die einstimmige Ablehnung von Faschismus und Krieg relativieren und sich für eine offensive Kriegsführung aussprechen.
