Examensarbeit aus dem Jahr 2008 im Fachbereich Germanistik - Komparatistik, Vergleichende Literaturwissenschaft, Note: 2,0, Universität Konstanz, Veranstaltung: Wissenschaftliche Arbeit für die Zulassung zur ersten Prüfung für das Lehramt an Gymnasien, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Wenngleich es literarische Texte seit geraumer Zeit gibt, so ist die Art und Weise des Umgangs mit ihnen, d. h. insbesondere ihre Interpretation seit je her umstritten. Nicht nur die Literaturwissenschaft ist sich bis heute uneins in der Auslegung von Texten, sondern auch die "gewöhnliche" Leserschaft kommt zu ganz unterschiedlichen Ergebnissen, was die Bedeutung von Texten anlangt. Seit den Bemühungen der Konstanzer Schule und ihren Hauptvertretern Wolfgang Iser und Hans Robert Jauß, das Verhältnis von Text und Leser in einer Theorie der Rezeptionsästhetik neu zu definieren, hat der etwas starre Interpretationsbetrieb aus Hermeneutik und Strukturalismus in den 1970er Jahren neue Bewegung erfahren. Iser und Jauß zeigen in ihren Ausführungen die Verwechslung zwischen Bedeutung und Sinn auf. Wer Texte nur auf ihre Bedeutung hin liest, läuft also nicht nur Gefahr, Bedeutung mit Sinn zu verwechseln, sondern auch über den Sinn eines literarischen Textes hinweg zu lesen und somit die Grundlage für die mögliche Bedeutung von Texten außer Acht zu lassen. Könnten Texte allein über die Denotate ihre Wörter erschlossen werden, so stellt sich die Frage, warum die Bedeutung eines Textes, die sich dem Zugriff des Lesers gezielt und beinahe böswillig entzieht, immer erst "gefunden" werden muss. Inwieweit dieser Auffassung ein Missverständnis innewohnt und inwieweit es sich lösen lässt, zeigt Wolfgang Iser anhand seiner rezeptionsästhetischen Theorie in "Der Akt des Lesens", die im Anschluss an eine knappe Darstellung auf drei Erzählungen angewendet werden soll. Über die Anwendung hinaus möchte ich zeigen, dass Isers "Leerstellen" in den ausgewählten Erzählungen insbesondere von moralischer Bedeutsamkeit
