About the Book

ARE THERE MONKEYS IN GLACIER NATIONAL PARK? Well, there are NOW! In this kids' "guidance" book, our little plush monkey friends help us observe wild animals in their natural habitat without interfering with real-life animals, teaching the first valuable lesson: leave wildlife alone! Hilariously funny TALKING plush monkeys are the stars of the show! KIDS don't get into trouble, MONKEYS do...but the kids learn the lessons just the same! Imaginations get a thorough workout! Filled with eye-popping photos of the scenery in Glacier Park, you get a tour of the most prominent locations along with amazing insights for kids to help them enjoy this magical wonderland of nature. Having SAFE RESPONSIBLE FUN is the main focus, a concern for every parent. The cool part is: kids will digest the message better if you present it in a humorous manner. Fun-loving monkeys insure the message comes through loud and clear. Kids can look forward to achieving 2 main goals with this book: 1. Learn lots of real facts about the park and its wildlife. 2. Have crazy-good fun learning that stuff! Our monkey friends don't know anything about the park, so the kids PRETEND to be grownups so they can be the leaders. They advise the monkeys what to do, and what NOT to do so they can avoid danger and stay out of trouble. "Ranger Joey" pop-ups reinforce the message on each page so nobody is left wondering if the monkeys did a good thing or a bad thing. It's spelled out plainly, leaving kids with full knowledge of what just happened. The novelty of this book is that kids are empowered to make good choices. It demonstrates how to excel by using common sense and employing your ability to stop, look and listen. Kids get to be real-life heroes! Positive reinforcement of good behaviors is a large part of the story too. There is wonderful character growth in the storyline. The fun part? From beginning to end, the mischievous monkeys are constantly in and out of trouble. But there's always a lesson learned, making the most of teachable moments with lots of entertainment and laughter. Fact: It's always better to prevent mistakes or trouble by learning from somebody else's 'monkey business'! There's 'guidance' in this book that's not available in any 'guide' book. Kids will be inspired to ask important questions that lead to a safe and rewarding visit to Glacier National Park, Montana.
About the Author: I am a late bloomer....I've wanted to write and illustrate books for children for as long as I can remember. It actually became crystal clear what my calling was during the times I read to my young children. There were so many stories that were good, but many "just missed it" when trying to make a point or teach a lesson. I told myself I shouldn't complain unless I could do it better so that thought has kept me inspired all these years. Now that I'm a grandma, again the thoughts come forward: do it! Write those books you've been promising all these years! Children are my passion; there is no finer feeling than touching a child's life in a positive and permanent way through story-telling. Books are the obvious answer for me; I can now say I have the best job in the world! I can entertain children while teaching them great life lessons! Humor is the magic ingredient when talking to kids; they "get it". They are hungry for more; reading whimsical stories only encourages their love of reading. That opens the door to their entire life of learning. I say make learning fun; it works. My mother taught me to draw when I was a preschooler. It has been a way of life for me, one that has proven a great creative outlet. So I decided to put my best effort into silly-but-cute characters for my books. I hope my stories will touch the hearts of children and parents alike.
