About the Book

The Monk: A Romance by M. G. LewisWhenever Father Ambrosio speaks in the Madrid Church, all will hear him. He is the most learned, most virtuous, and most admired monk in the city. That is his innocence that he will not sin for others, and he criminally punishes the worshipers. In the audience, one day was a young woman named Antonia, who came to Madrid with her mother to seek financial help from their relatives, Marquis Raymond de las Cisternas, where the Church of Antonia met Lauren. Soe de Medina, a wealthy young nobleman who was charming with her sweetness, promised to appeal to Raymond in her name. Before he left the church, Lorenzo saw Raymond and realized that he was the man who supposedly speculated Lorenzo's sister Agnes and made a heartbroken young woman into the convent. St. Clair Lorenzo challenged his former friend. But Raymond begged him to listen to the story and make a decision. The Marquis did not know the fate of that moment with Agnes. Father Ambrosio tugged into a memo written to Agnes by Raymond, admitting that the child she would soon bear belonged to him and planned her escape from the convent. Ambrosio summoned his mother, St. Agatha, the priest, and Agnes was taken to torture and possibly death. The young girl begged Ambrosio for mercy, but he was cold to her pleas. She then cursed him, demanding that he remember her when he succumbed to temptation.Ambrosio must remember Agnes' words when he succumbed to the attention of Matilda, an evil woman disguised as a novice in a monastery and known as the monk Rosario. Ambrosio fights with a conscience But his wishes overwhelmed him and he completely surrendered to Matilda. He could not let the monk learn that a woman was in the monastery, however, because by then he would be exiled and reviled by everyone who honored him. After hearing Raymond's story, Lorenzo forgives his friend for thinking he betrayed Agnes. Agnes enters the St. Clair Convent in grief after she is persuaded by shameless relatives that Raymond has abandoned her. Raymond met her there and by bribing the porters were able to meet her every night. When she found out that she would have his child, she sent him a letter. It is his record in response to their planned escape and next marriage that Ambrosio intercepted neither Raymond nor Lorenzo knowing the fate of her and the guys. He plans to help her together. Before helping with the proposal, Lorenzo pays Antonia. However, her mother, Elvira, feared that his family would not allow him to associate with a young woman with no family or fortune, and she begged him not to call again until he had permission from the family to marry. Antonia, He couldn't consult his family until he could help his sister. When Agnes doesn't show up on time, Lorenzo goes to the convent and asks to see her. St Agatha's mother told him that Agnes was too sick to accept him for many days. When he was confirmed, the priest told him that the girl had died while giving birth to an unborn child. Fierce Lorenzo and Raymond vowed to take revenge on the priest. Raymond didn't believe that his loved one was dead.At the same time, Ambrosio, satisfied with his passion, learn of his horror that Matilda uses magic and associates with demons. Even if his wishes for Matilda were lost. But his passion for women was still strong and he turned his attention to Antonia, who asked him to go to her sick mother. The innocent girl had no doubts about his intentions. But her mother did. Elvira met them once when a monk tried to rape Antonia, but the young woman was so pure that she didn't understand the priest's actions. Matilda comes to help him and cast a spell so he can rape Antonia while she sleeps. The plan will be successful if Elvira doesn't enter the room. When Elvira tried to cry for help, Umbrosiobi hit her throat to death.Raymond got sick after learning of Agnes' fate. Lorenzo learned from another nun that Saint ...
